I think that Apple (Steve) is a master in the create of a Hype. The media is of course nice to them because they know that the audience for the hype is to poke.

HTC / Google / T-Mobile have the G1 is less although it also made it quite on message. Probably the price is decisive and the idea that an "open" platform. It seems strong that there 1.5 million units sold in only early adopters are stuck there are so many "normal" between users.
