My concern is not that the way to the iPhone. On the contrary, I think it is very important today screen. I have a Touch Pro as a business device and I really miss the overview of my role. After several weeks iPhone I was glad I could send him back (advantage of a lending program).
I think of the iPhone is not really revolutionary. Frankly, anything on the HP Jornada's run in 2000. Did not look slick, but conceptually the same. Then I also have a horrible hate otherwise. We could technically better.
On the other hand I see that if no swift action from Microsoft, HTC and Samsung do, so you uniformity of your platform completely lost. Fun for the diversity, but knudde Developer (Touch Flow plugins do not exist, and that the Omnia can not, and if they already exist will certainly be different in each). And in the long term that demolishes the added value of an OS for the consumer / business.
Microsoft could also better in many respects. I look at the Zune interface will see that it works really slick, and smooth (and is also in Media Center Xbox I think). That would really like myself want to go, provided the overview of the current GUI remains.
I believe more in themselves better integration and intelligence. I look at the average car-navigation and HTC today screens, then there are little things in, like other functional behavior during calls, navigating and resting. tools such as
Xobni do so for Outlook and a very big hit. Tooling see if Xobni frequency of communication and lead off from there that things are as clever choice (eg by 95% of your communication but 10 specific addresses go). This is your GUI work smarter and saves it. If there was something I loved them more time for my environment. But that will be the version of 2100
